Three members of a family were hospitalized after being exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide, Anne Arundel County fire officials said.

Firefighters responded just after 8 a.m. to a home in the 100 block of Queen Anne Road in Glen Burnie. Officials said three people were transported to the hyperbaric chamber of R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma.

The original call was for an unconscious person, but when crews arrived they said they found a woman and two children exhibiting symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

A 15-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were transported to shock trauma with serious injuries that were not immediately considered life-threatening.

Crews said they detected levels of 800 parts per million of CO inside the home, which were extremely high.

Fire officials said a generator located in the basement being used to power the home was the source of the leak.

BGE utility officials report there were no power outages in the area at the time of this incident, but officials are unable to say why power was shut off at the home.
