LA PORTE, Texas - Hurricane Ike flooded Kim and Ron Roarks' home on Country Club Drive in La Porte with 18 inches of water.

Since then, the Roarks and their two kids have lived with friends and in an apartment. Workers gutted the home.

The Roarks paid for the improvements that insurance did not cover.

Tuesday morning, a fire started just after they returned to what they had built into their dream home.

Kim Roark said, "We had just moved in. We had just been here three days and everything still in boxes. If the fire didn't get it, the water from putting out the fire got it"

The couple struggles to explain to the kids how their home first damaged by Ike could be destroyed just three days after the family moved back home.

Ron Roark said, "As long as your family's alright, everything else is alright. Everything you have is just stuff. Some stuff is harder to replace than other stuff. But it's still just stuff."

The family suspects an electrical problem started the fire. The Galveston County Fire Marshal will make the official determination.
