Police said they responded to reports of gunfire at about 11:14 p.m. at 1119 Staghorn St. and spoke with the victim, Winston Parke.

Parke said he was outside his home talking to friends when he noticed a silver Cadillac slowly driving down the street. As the vehicle got closer to his home, Parke said he saw a passenger in the front seat point a handgun with a red laser in his direction and fire.

Parke told investigators that he ran for cover and heard about six gunshots.

Deputies said they were able to apprehend the vehicle and Parke and other witnesses positively identified the driver as Ortiz. They also found that Ortiz had a suspended driver's license. Morris was identified as the gunman while Swiney and 18-year-old Mauricio Aranguibul were in the back seat.

Police said Swiney gave investigators a false name and false information and that Aranguibul was found in possession of stolen credit cards and drivers' licenses.

Morris was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm and discharge of firearm from a vehicle. Ortiz was charged as an accessory after the fact, and Swiney was charged with giving a false name/information to a law enforcement officer.

Aranguibul is expected to be charged soon, police said.
