There was a huge drug bust in Wayne County today. Lyons Police Chief Michael Donalty said they have taken 20 drug dealers off the street and they are in the process of getting four or five more today.

In a press conference this morning, Donalty said the drug problem in Wayne County is out of control. Three arrests were made last night and 17 today. The chief says the biggest problem is crack cocaine but they also made some marijuana arrests too.

Donalty said the correlation between drugs and crime is startling. Chief Donalty said, "Most of these individuals that you see behind me here are the people affecting the quality of life in our small communities and we're sending a message to these people and to the others that chose to follow them, that they're not welcome in our towns and villages."

The chief says he believes most of the dealers are getting their supply from the City of Rochester and then bringing it back to Wayne County. He says that's a big problem and they are still investigating and working to solve it
