DES MOINES, Iowa - THEIOWACHANNEL.com
An Iowa family has been working hard to rebuild their lives since a fire in January killed their daughter and destroyed their home.
Sunday, the Eighmy family, of Glidden, will celebrate the completion of their new home.
Habitat for Humanity of West Central Iowa volunteers built the home. Members will be on hand Sunday for the 2 p.m. dedication at 409 Arizona Street.
The family helped build the new home.
Rod and Cheryl Eighmy lost their daughter Trisha, 16, in the fire on January 19. Rod and three children were home when the fire broke out. Everyone but Trisha was able to escape.
The family lost nearly everything they owned in the fire. Officials said the fire investigation pointed to lint build up in a dryer vent as the cause of the fire.
