Police: Halloween-Masked Bank Robber Arrested

JONESVILLE, S.C. - WYFF 4.com

A man wearing a horror movie mask and armed with a toy gun robbed the only bank in a small Union County town on Friday morning, according to deputies.

The FBI, Jonesville police and the Union County Sheriff's Office investigated the robbery that happened at about 9:45 a.m. There were no customers in the bank at the time, and only two employees were in the building.

Late Friday night, police in Jonesville said they made an arrest in connection with the robbery.

David Lee Glenn was arrested at Nestle Plant in Cherokee County and charged with armed robbery. Police said a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the robbery was located in the parking lot of the plant.

Warrants are being signed on Glenn, police said, and he has been taken into custody and transported to Cherokee County Detention Center where he awaits transfer to the Union County Jail.

Investigators said Glenn wore a white "Scream" mask with blue rubber gloves and carried a toy gun when he held up the First Citizens Bank on Pacolet Street the day before Halloween. Tellers also told investigators he was wearing a camouflage jacket with red lining.

Authorities said the man bought the disguise at a Dollar General Store down the street from the bank. He then walked into the bank, demanded money and got away in an older model gray or charcoal-colored Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep took off headed for Cherokee County, investigators said.

The First Citizens branch is the only bank in Jonesville. Investigators said it was the third time in the bank's history that it has been robbed.
