More news from your region |
Kentucky residents and small businesses affected by tornadoes and severe storms on October 9 of this year can apply for low interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
SBA Administrator Karen G. Mills announced the loans in response to a letter from Kentucky Governor Stephen Beshear on October 26 requesting a disaster declaration.
The declaration covers Casey, Adair, Boyle, Lincoln, Marion, Pulaski, Russell and Taylor Counties.
Loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property. SBA's customer service representatives will be on hand at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center to issue loan applications, answer questions and explain the application process.
The Center will be located in the Old Casey County Courthouse in Liberty. It opens Tuesday, November 3.
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is December 28, 2009. The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 29, 2010.
