BILLINGS - Hundreds of local preschool students received some warm gifts from the City of Billings Thursday morning. As part of its United Way contribution, the City of Billings donated more than 300 brand new coats, hats, boots and gloves to underprivileged students at Head Start Preschool. The executive director of Head Start says city employees went the extra mile to outfit the kids. "They didn't just go buy coats, they personalized them," said Kathy Kelker. "They took the list of names, ages and sizes and bought just the right coat." Multiple city employees helped deliver the clothing including Billings Firefighters who taught the kids about fire safety. Boxes of clothes were also distributed to Head Start students in Lockwood, Hardin, Laurel, Joliet and Red Lodge.
