Bus Driver May Have Fled

BILLINGS - A former Billings bus driver accused of hitting a teenager in a crosswalk while he was driving the bus drunk may have fled the state. Tim Whalen faces four felonies including negligent vehicular assault. Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest nearly two weeks ago but haven't located him. Yellowstone County Attorney Dennis Paxinos tells KULR-8 Whalen tried to possibly hire an attorney and negotiate his surrender but the deal fell through. Paxinos says there are now serious doubts that Whalen is still in Montana. Prosecutors say Whalen registered a blood alcohol content of .118 two hours after the September 25 crash.
