A Kentucky State Police investigation has lead to the indictment of a new mother in Franklin County.

A grand jury indicted Jennifer Hazlett on Wednesday of Wanton Endangerment 1st and Possession of Cocaine 1st charges. Kentucky State Police say Hazlett used cocaine throughout her pregnancy, before giving birth to a baby girl weighing only 2 pounds, 15 ounces. Medical records reveal the baby girl tested positive for cocaine.

KSP, along with the Department of Families and Children and the Franklin County Commonwealth's Attorney Office began investigating in September. Hazlett was arrested Thursday and lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
