CORPUS CHRISTI - The first game of the basketball season can't come soon enough for the West Oso boys.

They're more than anxious to redeem themselves after getting blown out 60-32 by Stafford in the regional finals in Corpus Christi.

The Bears return nine players, three of those starters from last year's team, including leading scorer and rebounder Raymond Robinson, who averaged close to 14 points a game.

Plus, they will be counting on 6'3", 260 pound Xavier Johnston down low. These guys think they can get right back there.

"We won't get blown out again, cuz that was very painful and embarassing because it was like a home game for us. But this season we're going to get it together, play better defense, work on our shots better and just win," Robinson said.

"Everybody on the team is bigger than everybody we should play, so we should be dominant on the post," Johnston said.

"We waited to the very last game of the region finals to have one of our worst games of the year and it took a lot of pride out of them. They came back with a lot of intensity this year and hopefully that carries us through this year," Bears Head Coach Arnold Flores said.
