The driver continued north into DeKalb County and into the city of Garrett, where officers were able to use “Stop Stix” to deflate one of the suspect's tires.

The driver continued north at speeds up to 65 mph, when he came to a curve on County Road 11 in DeKalb County, lost control and hit a tree.

Police say the vehicle flipped over and landed on its top, trapping the driver.

He was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition.
