Authorities said the fire ignited in the woman's kitchen, and the victim apparently tried to escape from her apartment but couldn't make it out fast enough.

"We heard her screaming. She was like, 'Help me; help me,'" Dawn Frank said.

Frank and another neighbor rushed to the corner apartment to help the woman trapped inside, but the fire was too intense.

"Me and a tall guy pushed the door in, but the smoke was so heavy, and the fire, that it pushed us," Frank said.

Investigators said they believe the blaze was accidental. The woman had oxygen tanks, and at one point, crews thought they might explode.

"The woman who lives in the apartment had some severe medical conditions that required the use of oxygen," Casselberry Police Department Lt. Dennis Stewart said.

Police told the woman's relatives about her death.

"I'm sad, so sad, you know. Anybody but her -- she's too nice," Frank said.

Nine residents were temporarily displaced from their homes.
