PALATKA, Fla. - Putnam County sheriff's detectives said they arrested a Palatka High School student Monday night after she called in a false report of a bomb threat.

Officers said 17-year-old Santana Stukes was charged with four second-degree felony counts in connection with Monday's bomb threat incident at the school.

Stukes was placed into the custody of Juvenile Justice, and at her first appearance before a judge, she was subsequently released on home detention pending future court appearances.

Police said after tracing the calls to Stukes's cell phone, detectives picked her up at her Palatka home and took her to the sheriff's office for questioning.

Detectives said during the interview, Stukes confessed that she made the calls from the bathroom inside the school.

No clear motive was given for her actions.

The sheriff's office said initial rough estimates place the financial costs to all the agencies involved at several thousands of dollars.
