SEATTLE - The chief financial officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation says he's leaving that post early next year to pursue other interests.
The Seattle Times reports that Alexander Friedman made the announcement Monday in an e-mail to colleagues at the philanthropic foundation. A former investment banker, Friedman said he most likely would return to the private sector, but also is considering nonprofit and government work.
Friedman joined to the foundation in March 2007 and presided over a huge period of growth.
