Elizabeth Taylor’s scheduled heart procedure went off without a hitch.

“Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It’s like having a brand new ticker,” she wrote on her Twitter page on Thursday afternoon. “Thank you for your prayers and good wishes… I know they all helped.”

Taylor also used her Twitter page earlier this week to announce she was headed into the hospital for the operation.

“Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart,” she wrote on Tuesday afternoon. “It’s very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.”

In addition to revealing her need for the heart procedure, the 77-year-old Hollywood icon also debunked a rumor that suggested she was suffering from diabetes.

“I was completely honest with you about my hospitalization,” she tweeted. “Now the press, bless their little hearts, had to add something by saying that I had diabetes, which is a total lie. But I guess they can’t help themselves.”
