On Oct. 4, Lohan walked the catwalk with designer Estrella Archs during the Emmanuel Ungaro fashion show in Paris. Lohan and Archs collaborated on the collection together, and reviews indicate Lohan might not have found a suitable backup profession.
WWD called the collection “cheesy and dated,” saying it “displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver.” Britain's Daily Express was equally harsh, criticizing the collection for “truly hideous fashion faux pas,” specifically mentioning “silver sequined pasties” that “belong in a lap dancing club.”
In fairness, Lohan was just named artistic director for the fashion house weeks ago. But she comes to the position with a resume that doesn’t exactly instill a lot of hope. Other than being an avid shopper, her only experience in fashion design involves her own line of leggings.
Lohan fared better last month, however, when she hosted a series of concerts tied to the Singapore Grand Prix. Lohan felt she was qualified to be on hand for the Formula 1 road race because, as she pointed out in interviews, “I studied NASCAR for almost a year for ‘Herbie.’ It was very hot inside those cars.”
Jeff Gordon, she’s not, but she still made about $150,000 for the gig, and expenses were covered as well, sources say.
“They like her well enough in Europe,” said one source. “It’s not huge money and she’ll show. (It) doesn’t totally matter that she’s not a huge draw. The Grand Prix does fine on its own.”
Kanye takes a ‘vacation’
It appears that Kanye West really is taking the Taylor Swift incident to heart.

“We’re calling it a ‘vacation,’” said one close friend. “He’s going away to get things sorted out.”
Whatever he’s up to exactly, he’s got Internet access — West has been blogging, but mostly just posting photos and video. He hasn’t been doing much of his own writing since the VMAs.
‘Zombieland’ munches box office
“Zombieland,” as predicted, was the big winner at the box office, but it didn’t just eke out a win, it cannibalized the competition.
“Zombieland” took in $25 million, and the other big wide release, “Toy Story/Toy Story 2” came in third, with just a $12.5 million take — which isn’t that impressive since there was a 3D premium on so many of the “Toy Story” tickets.
Not to mention, part of the strategy with the re-release of the successful “Toy” franchise had to do with getting buzz out for another “Toy Story” sequel, which is due in theaters in June 2010. You have to wonder what’s in store for that release come June.
