KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man and a woman accused of training the woman's 12-year-old daughter as a sexual dominatrix and prostituting her online are going to prison.
Thirty-seven-year-old Todd Barkau and the girl's 45-year-old mother pleaded guilty Thursday to sex trafficking of a child. The woman will serve 15 years in federal prison and Barkau will serve 25 years under a plea deal.
Officials say the two lived in a Kansas City suburb when Barkau began having sex with the girl in 2000 when she was 12, showing her how to perform sex acts with men, including bondage and sadomasochism.
She was prostituted from January 2002 to February 2005, mainly through a Web site.
The woman isn't being named to protect her daughter's identity.
