‘Grey’s’ star Pompeo gives birth to baby girl

LOS ANGELES - Ellen Pompeo is a new mom.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” star welcomed daughter Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery on Sept. 15, a rep for Pompeo confirmed to Access Hollywood.
Stella is the first child for Pompeo and music producer husband Chris Ivery.
“Grey’s” co-star Katherine Heigl — also a new mom, having adopted daughter Nancy Leigh recently — hosted a baby shower for Pompeo several weeks ago at her Los Feliz, Calif., home, with friends and co-stars including Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh and Rebecca Gayheart in attendance. Both Heigl and Pompeo are on break from “Grey’s” to focus on their maternal roles.
The show’s sixth season returns Thursday, Sept. 24, on ABC.
