SEATTLE - Seattle's mystery man says putting together the pieces of his memory has been a frustrating, confusing experience.

The man who still goes by the name Jon Doe told reporters Friday that he can't remember large chunks of his life.

He says he accepts that he could be Edward Lighthart, the man identified from pictures after The Seattle Times published a story Thursday. The newspaper detailed how the man woke up in a park three weeks ago not knowing who he was or how he got there.

The man said at a news conference at Seattle's Swedish Medical Center that doctors have told him he has a rare form of dissociative amnesia. He says it's one of the most hellish experiences anyone can go through.
