The IRS is seeking more than $6.2 million from Nicolas Cage, the Detroit News reported.
According to the newspaper, a $6,257,005 tax lien was filed against the star on July 14. Public records reportedly show that the figure stems from alleged unpaid income tax for 2007.
The address on the lien was reportedly Nicolas’ $3.55 million New Orleans mansion — which is now up for sale, as is his $35 million Hollywood home.
The news comes months after the star settled a previous incident with the IRS.
According to ABC News, he agreed to pay $666,000 plus interest in back taxes and penalties in September 2008 after allegations of improperly deducted personal expenses.
