Tornado kills 2 Americans in Canada

EAR FALLS, Ontario - Two Oklahoma men were killed and one remains missing after a tornado ripped through a tourist resort in northwestern Ontario, a meteorologist said Friday.

Geoff Coulson, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the men were inside a cabin when it was ripped from the ground and thrown into a lake as the storm passed through Fisherman's Cove Resort Thursday night.

The two bodies were found in the water just offshore, police said. Five other people inside a second cabin suffered minor injuries, Coulson said.

Environment Canada said the tornado had wind speeds between 111 and 149 miles per hour.

The tornado took the lives of Bernie Jackson, 65, and Stan Hollis, 79. Dennis Kinkaid, 66, was still missing as of Friday morning, said his wife, Dayna.

Officers spent Friday scouring the area around Fisherman's Cove for the missing man.
