Tropical Storm Carlos forms in Pacific
Might become a hurricane, but it's far off Mexico's coast

MEXICO CITY - Tropical Storm Carlos formed Friday far off Mexico's Pacific coast and was expected to reach hurricane strength in the next few days as it moves further out to sea.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Carlos had winds near 40 mph and was expected to continue moving west for the next few days.
At 2 p.m. PDT, the storm was about 910 miles south-southwest of the tip of the Baja California peninsula.
Earlier this week, Tropical Storm Blanca formed, then dissipated off Mexico's Pacific Coast.
