NEW YORK - A burnt piece of wood will always remind “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi of the man she plans to marry.

DioGuardi told ABC's "Live With Regis and Kelly" that her fiance Mike McDuddy has a souvenir from the bonfire he built for her shortly after they met. She says he's framed "a piece of ember from the fire."

McDuddy is a contractor who built a house next to the one DioGuardi has in Maine. They met when she went over to complain that his house was too close to hers. When she saw him she says she thought he was "kind of hot."

They got engaged last December. DioGuardi says the wedding is in "less than two weeks." She didn't say where it would be.
