Jon and Kate plan ‘life-changing’ statement

LOS ANGELES - Jon and Kate Gosselin are set to make a “life-changing” announcement.

In a promo for the June 22 episode of their TLC reality show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” the embattled couple appear ready to address the controversy surrounding their relationship.

“Recently, we’ve made some life-changing decisions. Decisions that will affect every member of our family,” Kate says in a promo for the upcoming episode. “Ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace.”

Although no details on the announcement were available, as Kate speaks during the 30-second promo, messages flash across the screen — “A Family In Turmoil;” “A Relationship At A Crossroads” and “Where Do They Go From Here?”

While Jon and Kate’s apparent marital problems have brought unwanted attention to their family, they’ve also brought in big ratings for TLC.

The May 25 season premiere was seen by 9.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched program in TLC history.

However, it appears some of the luster is starting to wear off.

After seven straight weeks on the cover of Us Weekly, Jon and Kate have finally been bumped this week for fellow reality star Stephanie Pratt.
