2 shot, killed at bus station in northern Va.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Police in northern Virginia are searching for a man suspected of shooting and killing two people at a commuter bus station near a popular shopping center.

Prince William County Police say the shootings occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the bus station in Woodbridge near the Potomac Mills shopping center.

Both victims were adult men, police spokeswoman Kim Chinn said. She said it appears the suspect and victims knew each other, but did not elaborate.

Christine Rodrigo, a spokeswoman for the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, said the shooting occurred in an employee parking lot on the opposite side of the terminal from where passengers board buses.

Many of the riders are workers who commute to Washington, D.C.

One of the victims was an employee of First Transit, which provides contract services to PRTC, Rodrigo said. The investigation will lead to significant disruptions to afternoon service.

Police were searching for a suspect described as a 40-year-old light-skinned black male, last seen wearing dark clothing. He was described as about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 210 pounds.
