Msnbc.com is named America’s #1 news site for 11th consecutive month
More than 40 million unique visitors spur 24% increase in year-over-year audience growth

REDMOND, Wash. - For the eleventh consecutive month, the MSNBC Digital Network (msnbc.com) beat the CNN Digital Network (CNN.com) and Yahoo! News and was named the #1 Current Events and Global News Site according to Nielsen Online. In April, msnbc.com attracted 40.1 million unique visitors as consumers turned to the site for a fuller spectrum of news including expansive coverage of the economy, the latest health reports, breaking news, and lifestyle features.
Msnbc.com April Highlights:
- Msnbc.com had 40.1 million unique visitors in April – an 8% lead over CNN.com (37.2 million) and a 2% lead over Yahoo! News (39.1 million).*
- Msnbc.com had the largest year-over-year increase in unique visitors with 24%, while Yahoo! News was up 14% and CNN.com experienced an 11% increase.*
- In April, msnbc.com’s online video streams were nearly 128 million, making it the second highest month for video streams in site history.**
