Former Principal Found Not Guilty In Assault Case
A former Nicholas County High School principal accused of roughing up one of his students was found not guilty of assault Friday.Joseph Orazen, 35, of Carlisle, was charged with fourth-degree assault in the case. Police say back in February Orazen got into an altercation with a 15-year-old student, Dusty Green. LEX 18 later received surveillance footage in an unmarked package, showing an outdoor confrontation between a male student and a man, whom LEX 18 identified as Orazen and Green. The footage shows the man wrapping his arms around the student, scooping him up and slamming him to the ground.Soon after LEX 18 aired the footage, Orazen was suspended from Nicholas County High School and was later arrested.If convicted, Orazen faced up to a year in jail and a $500 fine.
