  Joe in his own words
About me

I am currently the host of Morning Joe (WHICH AIRS AT 6/5c ON MSNBC). Before TV, I served in the U.S. Congress from 1994-2001.

I moved around quite a bit growing up. Born in Atlanta, I lived in Meridian, MS and Elmyra, NY before my family settled in Pensacola, FL, where I have lived since.

I spent most of my wasted youth playing music and sports, playing quarterback for Pensacola Catholic High and spending all my free time writing and recording original music.

I went to the University of Alabama as an undergraduate, where I was blessed to get to watch the great Paul 'Bear' Bryant coach his final seasons. After graduating I went to Law School at the University of Florida. I practiced law until I was compelled to run for public office in 94.

I emerged from a crowded field of five Republicans and took the seat from an 18 year incumbent, becoming the first Republican to represent my district since 1873. During my time in congress I was fortunate to have to opportunity to serve on the Armed Services, Judiciary, Government Reform, and Education committees.

Scarborough resides in Florida with his wife, Susan, and their children.
