Have you always dreamed of getting an Ambush Makeover on the TODAY show, but can’t get to New York in hopes you’ll be picked out of the crowd in Rockefeller Plaza?
Despair not. TODAY co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb are taking the highly popular makeovers on the road.
The “TODAY’s Ambush Hits the Road Contest” will select as many as four lucky viewers to get makeovers in their homes from June 8-11. The makeovers will be done live during the TODAY show by celebrity hair colorist Louis Licari and wardrobe stylist Jill Martin — the same experts who every Friday give totally new looks to two lucky visitors to the Plaza.
The new hairdo and outfit are worth an estimated $500, but the experience of being visited by the “Ambush Makeover” team and having your makeover broadcast live to the nation is priceless.
Gifford and Kotb announced the contest Friday during their show. Entries will be accepted until 11 a.m. ET on May 29, and the lucky winners will be selected by a panel of judges on June 4.

Gifford and Kotb have set up a “Contest” link on their Web site, KLGandHoda.com, to receive entries. Full contest rules are posted on the site.
Winners will be selected based on 100-word original essays on the topic: “Why I want a Makeover by ‘Ambush Hits the Road.’ ” The essays must be written in English by the entrants, who should mention any special upcoming event they want to get spiffed up for.
The entries will be judged on three criteria: Necessity of a makeover (50 percent), originality (25 percent), and creativity (25 percent).
In addition to an essay, entrants must also provide three photos of themselves, their measurements and shoe sizes, and contact information for two other people who know they are entering the contest.
Potential winners must be at the home address provided on the entry form between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET on June 8-11, the four days that the makeovers will be performed. The actual makeover may be done at the winner’s home or at another location chosen by the TODAY Show.
Prizes cannot be transferred.
