Rosie O’Donnell and Star Jones might have had their fair share of public spats in the past, but on Monday night, the former ladies of “The View” put their differences behind them to help raise money at 2009 Passing It On Gala, which benefited O’Donnell’s Broadway Kids charity.
“Grown up women actually know how to go, ‘You know what, you pissed me off,’ and then they go, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to piss you off,’” Jones told Access Monday night at the charity event held at the New World Stages in New York.
The duo first sparred publicly in 2006 when O’Donnell called out Jones for her then-secret gastric bypass surgery — a feud that Jones said was exaggerated by the press.
“Well, that actually was more your brouhaha than our brouhaha,” Jones said. “My role is to simply be here to support Rosie in this initiative.”
O’Donnell agreed with Jones’ take the reports of their quarrel, saying, “The great thing about celebrity feuds is they’re never really real in real life you know? It’s not like Star and I were prank calling each other.”
Adding, “I think that (Star has) evolved into something fantastic. And she looks fantastic, and I respect her.”
