FBI spokesman Harry Rodriguez says agents arrested Esther Perez of New York City on federal charges of interference with a flight crew.

A criminal complaint alleges the visibly agitated woman grappled with an attendant 30 minutes into the flight on Wednesday before grabbing a handle on a cabin door.

Rodriguez said the woman was quickly restrained by flight crew and passengers.

The plane had to return to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan.
