Mischa Barton in talks to join ‘Melrose Place’

‘She’s excited about the possibility,’ a source told Access

Look out Beverly Hills, Mischa Barton may be joining your zip code.

A source close to the former “O.C.” actress confirmed she is in talks to join the cast of the new “Melrose Place,” the former spinoff to the original “90210,” which is coming to light again on The CW.

“She’s excited about the possibility,” the source told Access.

Barton wrapped up her role as poor little rich girl Marissa Cooper on “The O.C.” in 2006.

The actress has been working on a host of movies since her TV days, including 2008’s “Don’t Fade Away” with Beau Bridges and Ja Rule.

A rep for The CW, the network which will air the upcoming series, had no comment when contacted by Access Hollywood.
