Updated 102 minutes ago 5/28/2012 9:02:03 PM +00:00 Mitt Romney took advantage of one of his largest crowds of the campaign season on Memorial Day to warn of the dangers of a shrinking U.S. military in a dangerous world.

Burris was appointed to Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat year by former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. But he's under fire for changing his story repeatedly about circumstances surrounding his appointment.

Burris also told Durbin he has not made up his mind about running for re-election in 2010.

Durbin said he wanted to talk to Burris in person before commenting further. Senate Democrats are eager to keep the Burris matter from overshadowing Obama's address to Congress Tuesday night.
