Italian dies on Spain-to-Chile flight

33-year-old suffers massive heart attack, medical officials say

ASUNCION, Paraguay - Medical officials in Paraguay say an Italian tourist has died during a flight from Spain to Chile.

Dr. Lorena Fernandez of the Bautista hospital tells reporters that the pilot of an Iberia jetliner made an emergency landing in Paraguay's capital on Tuesday because a passenger was suffering chest pains.

She says a man identified as 33-year-old Fabio Musso died of a massive heart attack.

The first secretary at Italy's embassy in Asuncion says he has contacted Musso's relatives in the city of Cervasca in the Piedmont region. Valeranio Gatta says the body will be returned to Italy.
