LOS ANGELES - T.I. is using his upcoming MTV reality show to scare teens straight, and it’s not part of the 1,000 hours of community service he must complete before facing a prison sentence March 27.

The 28-year-old rapper told the Television Critics Association on Friday that he’s put in 864 hours so far. He said: “This show is in addition to (that).”

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced to one year in prison on federal weapons charges after he was arrested in Atlanta in 2007 for allegedly trying to buy automatic weapons. The show began filming in June and will continue to shoot until March.
