There's even a Web site, dressregistry.com, that aims to help women avoid the horror of the 2006 Kennedy Center Honors, when First Lady Laura Bush was one of four women in the same red Oscar de la Renta gown.
“(Celebrities and socialites) are taking the registry very seriously — no one wants to be the Laura Bush of this inauguration,” said one stylist.
A-listers are also scoring gowns via stylists for the inauguration, but handling awards shows on their own.
Said a source: “I know one actress — and she’s nominated for a Globe — and she told me she just walked into Saks and grabbed something she liked. ‘I’m over these shows,’ she said.”
The inauguration, though? "That’s a different story,” said the source.
Piven to pay back ‘Plow’ investors?
Sushigate is still on: Jeremy Piven, who reportedly fell victim to mercury poisoning so severe that he had to drop out of his Broadway show “Speed-the-Plow,” might have to repay investors for revenue lost due to his absence.

According to the Riedel report: “The backers are hoping to ‘squeeze some money out of him," since he destroyed ‘our chances of making a profit,’ a source says.”
Producers are reportedly investigating Piven’s illness in order to determine whether they might be entitled to some repayment for lost revenue.
Here comes the bride
Despite reports that Jamie Lynn Spears’ relationship with fiancé Casey Aldridge has been strained as of late, the couple is moving ahead with wedding plans, according In Touch Weekly.
Specifically, Spears has chosen a Monique Lhuillier gown, ordered invitations and chosen a three-tiered chocolate cake for her big day.
Spears and Aldridge’s daughter, Maddie, is 7 months old; no firm date for the wedding has been set.
Bravest diet spokesperson in all the land
Country music singer Wynonna Judd has signed on to be the celebrity spokesperson for the Alli weight-loss pill. And while we’re not in the habit of mentioning every face attached to every diet out there, the alli choice is a brave one, given the pill’s unfortunate possible gastrointestinal-related side effects.
Judd tells Scoop, though, “When I take alli … I don't wake up with what I call food hangover. I wake up, I feel cleaner. I feel stronger, and I make better choices to be more alive and active, especially with my kids.”
