LOS ANGELES - Hugh Jackman is People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2008, the 2009 Oscar host and an action hero with likely another blockbuster, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” due in May — but does that mean the renaissance man should give “Dancing With the Stars” a chance, too?

“Hands down,” co-host Samantha Harris told People. “He’s a song and dance man. He’s a Broadway guy. He’s got charisma and you know he can move.”

Harris told the mag that she’s said as much to the “Australia” star — and he responded with a sneak preview.

“He actually twirled and dipped me. I was so excited,” she said. “That made my year.”

The eighth cycle of “Dancing” begins in March on ABC, with a casting announcement due in the coming weeks

Jackman will host the Academy Awards on February 22, and it won’t be his first hosting gig — he’s emceed the Tony Awards three times, in 2003, 2004 (for which he won an Emmy) and 2005.
