Msnbc.com is named America’s #1 news site for six consecutive months

REDMOND, Wash. - For the sixth consecutive month, msnbc.com beat both CNN.com and Yahoo! News and was named the #1 Current Events and Global News Site according to Nielsen Online.  In November, msnbc.com attracted more than 41.8 million unique visitors as consumers turned to the site for its extensive coverage of the historic presidential election.  Consumers were engaged with the site’s latest breaking news and innovative tools on the "Decision '08 Dashboard" in addition to original stories, in-depth analysis, and compelling NBC News video.

Msnbc.com November Highlights:   

· Msnbc.com had more than 41.8 million unique visitors in November, topping both Yahoo! News and CNN.com.*

· Msnbc.com’s year-over-year increase in unique visitors was 41% – more than double that of CNN.com and Yahoo! News.*

· November marks the fourth consecutive month msnbc.com had more than 40 million unique visitors, a milestone CNN.com and Yahoo! News achieved only once.*
