SKOPJE, Macedonia - Heavy rainfall and winds of up to 60 mph left one person dead and disrupted traffic on the country's main highway on Thursday, authorities said.
A government center for crisis management said a 70-year-old woman drowned in her flooded basement apartment in southeastern Macedonia.
Storms also caused power outages in parts of the country, uprooted trees and damaged scores of homes and cars, while rock slides closed a section of the country's main highway to Greece for two hours.
