We've gathered a flurry of affordable packages for ski bunnies throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Crested Butte, Colo., from $125 per room per night
Book the "stay and ski for free" package from the Elk Mountain Lodge: accommodations in a room with a king bed and a mountain view, breakfast daily, and lift tickets for two days (lift tickets are valued at $118). Crested Butte is about an hour south of Aspen. Rates start at $125 per room per night, or $250 for the required two-night stay.

When: Nov. 26–Dec. 17, 2008.

Details: Does not include taxes of 14 percent. Based on double occupancy; no single bookings. Requires a two-night stay. Lift tickets must be preordered at least three days prior to arrival.

Reno/Lake Tahoe, from $138 per room per night
Eighteen ski resorts in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area are offering customizable packages. The lowest rate of $138 per room per night is available at the Montego Bay Wing of the Peppermill Resort in Reno. It covers accommodations and two lift tickets (a $128 value) for the Mount Rose Ski Resort in Tahoe, about 25 minutes away. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Reno airport and some of the ski resorts, but not to Mount Rose—transportation to that resort will cost $15 per person each way, but the hotel will arrange it for you. Rates start at $138 per room per night.

Jim Thorpe, Pa., from $149 per room per night
The Ski and Stay package at the Inn at Jim Thorpe includes accommodations, one lift ticket (a $43 value), and breakfast. You can choose a pass to either Blue Mountain or Jack Frost Big Boulder. Jim Thorpe, Pa., is in the Poconos Mountains, about an hour's drive from Allentown. Rates start at $149 per room per night, or $298 for the required two-night stay.

When: Through March 31, 2009.

Details: Includes all taxes. Based on single or double occupancy. Kids 6 and under stay for free; kids 7 and up will be charged the adult rate.

Waterville Valley, N.H., from $154 per room per night
About a two-hour drive from Boston, Waterville Valley Resorts are offering the Snow-vember/December Kick-off package. Two nights' accommodations and a two-day lift ticket (a value of $61) are included. You can choose from three hotels in the area: Black Bear Lodge, Golden Eagle Lodge, and the Snowy Owl Inn. You might want to time your visit to the Northern Lights fireworks celebration on November 28. Rates start at $154 per room per night, or $308 for the required two-night stay.

When: Nov. 1–Dec. 21, 2008.

Details: Does not include taxes of 8 percent. Based on double or single occupancy. Kids under 18 stay for free.

Jackson, Wyo., from $175 per room per night
The Ski Free package at Spring Creek Ranch includes accommodations, two lift tickets to Grand Targhee Resort or Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (up to a $174 value), breakfast at the Granary restaurant, and a complimentary shuttle to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (about four miles away) or to town. Rates start at $175 per room per night, a savings of 50 percent off the normal room rate.

When: Through April 1, 2009. Note that rates will be higher in February and March.

Boyne, Mich., from $212 per room per night
The Boyne's Great Escape package includes accommodations, lift tickets (a $251 value), three meals a day, and 1 two-hour group ski or snowboard lesson per day. You'll stay at either Boyne Mountain or the Boyne Highlands Resort. Boyne is about three hours from Grand Rapids. Rates start at $212 per room per night, or $1,058 for the required five-night stay—this represents a savings of more than 50 percent when compared to the cost of purchasing all the package components separately.

When: Jan. 4-March 20, 2009. Not available Feb. 15-19.

Details: Does not include taxes of 15 percent. Based on double occupancy; single occupancy rates start at $147 per room per night. Requires a five-night stay with a Sunday check-in. The Ski Free package at the Balsams Grand Resort covers accommodations, breakfast daily, lift tickets (a $66 value), and trail passes (a $30 value) for cross-country skiing. The resort is in New Hampshire's White Mountains, about four hours by car from Boston. Rates start at $178 per room per night.

When: Jan. 1–March 31, 2009; excludes all holidays.
