George Takei says gay marriage fight not over

Partner of Mr. Sulu says relationship will still ‘live long and prosper’

LOS ANGELES - George Takei doesn’t feel defeated by the apparent passage of a ban on gay marriage in California, he says he’s “galvanized.”

Takei says “this may be the basis for taking it to the Supreme Court of the United States.” California’s Supreme Court legalized gay marriage before Proposition 8 apparently overturned that decision.

Vote totals show the proposition passed by 400,000 votes, but opponents say there are millions of ballots that haven’t been counted.
