Hawaii, a state dependent on tourism, has been hit hard by the economic crisis. The Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism estimates that the number of tourists has dropped by half a million this year. That means empty hotel rooms that need filling — and some great deals for you. Here are three we found.
Honolulu, Oahu, from $470 per person
One of American Airlines Vacations' Hawaii deals features airfare, continental breakfast daily, and four nights at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel. The hotel has a pool and 80 rooms that were recently refurbished in stylish blues and greens. It's three blocks from Waikiki Beach.

The price reflects 50 percent off your companion's airfare and an included protection plan (a $79 value), which guarantees the reservation price and waives the fee for a one-time reservation change.
