LOS ANGELES - Opening statements in the murder retrial of music legend Phil Spector have been set for Wednesday after six alternate jurors were chosen.
The six join a panel of 12 regular jurors who will be asked to decide whether the death of actress Lana Clarkson at Spector’s home in 2003 was murder. The defense will suggest she committed suicide.
The last alternate sworn Monday was a woman who said her brother’s suicide years ago wouldn’t affect her decision-making in Spector’s case.
A regular juror who asked to be dismissed because he was needed at work was told to remain.
