LOS ANGELES - Authorities say three people were detained after police found an aerosol rifle in the trunk of a car at a checkpoint near the Emmy Awards show.
Los Angeles police Sgt. Jerry Chaney says some of the attendees at a drop-off location outside the Nokia Theatre got out of their cars and took cover behind a wall as they arrived for the show Sunday afternoon.
Chaney says the three people taken in for questioning were planning to attend the ceremony.
He adds the weapon was similar to a BB gun.
No one was injured and the show went on as scheduled.
