After a fatal plane crash in Columbia, S.C., took the lives of four passengers and sent DJ AM and drummer Travis Barker to the hospital in critical condition late Friday night, their exes were left surprised and worried.
Nicole Richie, who was engaged to DJ AM (whose real name is Adam Michael Goldstein) from 2004-2005, “is in shock,” a friend of the celebutante told Us Weekly.
“She wishes only the best for Adam and hopes he recovers from this,” the source said. “She’s horribly upset about the people who died.”
Nicole’s current boyfriend, rocker Joel Madden, sends his best wishes as well.
“[He] knows Travis and also feels terrible and hopes they recover. This is terrible news for both of them,” the source said.
As for Travis’ ex-wife, fellow reality show star Shanna Moakler, another source says she’s on her way to see him now.
“Shanna is freaking and in panic mode right now,” the source told Us.
And Moakler’s family confirmed the trip to People, telling the mag that she had flown out on Saturday morning.
“There’s still love between them,” said Gail Moakler, Shanna’s mom – and Travis’ former mother-in-law. “They may be divorced, but they’re still very close. She spends a lot of time with him. Their priorities are their kids.”
The couple has two children, son Landon, 4, and daughter Alabama, 2. They were married from 2004 until earlier this year.
According to Gail, Shanna talked to Travis on Friday night following the accident.
