Oregon
Silverton, from $69 per room per night
The newly opened Oregon Garden Resort in the Willamette Valley, just 45 miles southeast of Portland, is offering an introductory package that includes one night's accommodations for two, breakfast, dinner for two, and a bottle of the house wine. The package also covers admission to the adjacent Oregon Garden, 80 acres of themed gardens: a pet-friendly garden, a children's garden, a rediscovery forest, water wetlands, and more. The resort's 103 guest rooms are designed as single-story Craftsman-style "cottages" with private landscaped patios or decks and garden-themed furniture. The resort also boasts a state-of-the-art day spa and a restaurant led by executive chef Jeff Nizlek, a leading local culinary figure. Rates start at $69 per room per night for the first night; additional nights start at $109 per room.

Joseph, from $89 per room per night
The Wallowa Lake Lodge is in northeastern Oregon, home to the deepest gorge in America. The town of Joseph, surrounded by the Wallowa Mountains, hosts Alpen Fest during the last week in September. You can hear Swiss music, enjoy custom-made German sausage, beer, and wine, and pick out a piece of local art. The lodge, built in 1923, has lake views and 22 fully restored rooms, plus eight cabins on the lakeshore. Some rooms have kitchens. Rates start at $89 per room per night.

Willamette Valley, from $119 per room per night
At the 42-room Hotel Oregon, book the Wine Country package, and you'll receive lodging for one night, a glass of wine for two at the Cellar Bar, and dinner and breakfast at the hotel's McMenamins Pub. This hotel makes a good base for wine tasting in Willamette Valley, which has more than 200 wineries and is known for its excellent pinot noirs. Rates start at $119 per room per night.

Cannon Beach, from $318 per room per night

With the Fabulous Northwest Picnic package at the Ocean Lodge, enjoy regional products like Tillamook cheese with wild smoked salmon, summer sausage, Oregon hazelnuts, fresh fruit, and a Northwest pinot noir in complimentary wineglasses. The waterfront lodge also offers a light breakfast every day, wireless Internet, fireplaces in each room, and a enviable location — the Haystack, the huge beach rock and symbol of the Oregon coast, is literally in the backyard. Cannon Beach is a lovely beach town with boutique shopping, fine dining, and, the star of the show, the beach. Washington
Camano Island, from $120 per rental per night
Accommodations at the two-bedroom retreat on Smith Lake, start at $120 per room per night. The cottage encourages longer stays; if you book seven nights, you'll only pay for six. The fully furnished A-frame home is in the small residential community of Camaloch. A master bedroom, a living room, a full kitchen, a bathroom, and an oversize walk-in closet with a washer and dryer are on the main floor. The lower level, which opens to the lakefront, has another bedroom and a gas fireplace. A spiral staircase leads to the top floor, which has two wingback chairs and an ottoman. Nearby attractions include the Camaloch Golf Course, shopping at the Commons, and Camano Islands State Park. It's about a 90-minute drive north to the Canadian border or south to Seattle. Rates start at $120 per rental per night.
