Well, after two straight weeks of finding a way to blow big leads and lose games, the Cleveland Browns tried to do it again. But they just didn't have it in them Monday night, which allowed the Week 11 underdogs in the NFL to post an 8-8 ATS mark.

The Browns had a 13-0 lead over the Bills in the second quarter. They were up 23-13 just a few seconds into the fourth quarter. Then they immediately gave up a kick-return TD, and with just over two minutes left, Cleveland found itself trailing 27-26.

But unlike the past two weeks, the Browns bounced back, getting a booming 56-yard field goal from Phil Dawson in the 28-degree chill to move ahead. They then watched Buffalo's Rian Lindell miss from 47 yards, giving the Browns the 29-27 win and cover catching five points on the road.

Cleveland was one of just three pups to bag outright wins this past week, joining the Broncos and Jets. The Browns continued a recent "Monday Night Football" trend, as the dogs are now on a 6-2 ATS run, with Cleveland becoming the fourth of those six pups to claim the SU win, as well.

For the season, underdogs still hold a razor-thin 79-77-4 ATS advantage, with 51 pups winning outright.

The season-long Monday night "over" streak also continued. The Browns and Bills combined for just 29 points through three quarters, but the 27-point fourth quarter blew the game over the posted price of 42. The total has now gone over in 10 of 12 Monday matchups this season.

Oh, one more thing: I won for the 4th Monday in 5 weeks with my 20 Dimer on the Browns last night.

Tuesday's Inside The Numbers:

If it's a weekday, and it's fall, then it must be time for some football from the Mid-American Conference, the official conference of weekday college football.

Tonight, we bring you a little MAC attack, with Northern Illinois (5-5 SU, 5-4 ATS) traveling to take on Kent State (3-7 SU, 3-5 ATS). Yeah, this game has all the glow of a dead lightbulb, but thanks to the pointspread, there's at least one reason to care.

So let's go to the ATS numbers, shall we?

The Huskies are on a 5-1 ATS streak on the highway and carry additional ATS surges of 8-3-1 in November games and 5-2 against losing teams. However, NIU is also 1-4 ATS in its last five games, all against MAC foes.

The Golden Flashes, meanwhile, have hardly been golden at the betting window, as they are on ATS slides of 7-19 overall, 0-6 after a spread-cover, 0-6 after a SU win and 2-8 at home. But in this rivalry, the home team has bagged the cash in four of the last five meetings.

Tuesday's Quick Hits:

The college basketball season is under way, but really, there are still way too many big schools playing schools with one or more cardinal directions in their name. So we'll skip that and check out the 10-game NBA slate:

The Raptors, who are in Orlando tonight, are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, but they are on pointspread skids of 6-20 playing on one day's rest, 3-9 after a SU win and 5-12 against winning teams.

The Magic sport positive ATS streaks of 35-16-1 after a pointspread loss and 7-3 against Atlantic Division opponents.

The Cavaliers, off to a 7-3 ATS start this season, are on further ATS streaks of 5-1 on the road, 9-2 in the Eastern Conference and 12-3 overall, heading into New Jersey tonight.

The Nets are on ATS plunges of 1-4 after a spread-cover, 4-12 on two days' rest, 4-12 after a SU win and 11-27-2 against winning teams.

The Celtics, hosting New York, have failed to cash in their last four games and are additional ATS slides of 0-4 at home, 1-5 against the East and 1-4 after a SU win.

The Knicks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against winning teams, but are 4-12 ATS following a non-cover.

The underdog is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings between the Bulls and the Lakers, with the two teams squaring off in L.A. tonight.

The Bulls are on a 12-4 ATS binge against Western Conference foes.

The Lakers are on a 1-10 ATS purge against Eastern Conference opponents.
