ST. PAUL - So what's country singer John Rich going to wear when he hits the stage to perform at the Republican National Convention tomorrow night?

Rhinestone Wranglers of course. Rich says, "what else would I wear?"

Rich is a huge John McCain supporter, even writing and recording a pro-McCain anthem called "Raisin' McCain." He's slated to perform the song Wednesday at the convention. Rich says "I plan on stepping up on stage and letting it rip."

Rich says he still can't believe he's been invited to play at the event. He says he keeps thinking, "When are they going to throw me out?" He jokes that when you're a redneck country singer from Texas you're not used to being allowed inside the real inner circle.

And when asked if he's angling for a position in McCain's Cabinet, like music czar — he laughs, saying "Oh, I don't think so."
