ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - An explosion on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital Tuesday night killed at least seven people and wounded 20, police officials said.

The cause of the blast was under investigation. Police said a large crater and other damage indicated a bomb went off.

Police official Kamran Adil confirmed the casualties.

Several deadly suicide attacks in Pakistan recently have been claimed by the Taliban as revenge for military offensives in the northwest.
